The history of this family began in the late 80s of the last century. Notably, the SJ30 project was originally developed by Gulfstream (chief cosntructor - Edward J. Swearingen). In October 1986, Gulfstream Aerospace designed the twin-engine jet SA-30 Fanjet, later renamed the Gulfstream SA-30 Gulfjet. However, in September 1989, Gulfstream abandoned the development of that program and the Jaffe Group of San Antonio, Texas, took its place and the plane was renamed the Swearingen/Jaffe SJ30. In 1995, after founding a joint venture with the Taiwanese firm Sino Aerospace, SJ30 was again renamed Sino Swearingen. The first flight SJ30-1 made in 1991, and in 1996 SJ30-2 took off. Production of business jets ceased after Emivest Aerospace, the penultimate owner, declared bankruptcy in 2010. Last year, the company's assets were bought out by MT LLC, part of the Metalcraft Technologies Financial Group.
The new SJ30i will be equipped with Honeywell Epic 2.0-based SmartView avionics, which improves operational efficiency, communication quality and safety for operators (include Honeywell Satellite Communication Complex (SATCOM), Flight Management Systems (FMS), Cockpit Management Systems (CMS) and in-cab displays). Additionally, TCAS II, TAWS Level A, SmartLanding, SmartRunway, TOLD, and ADS-B In are included in the basic configuration.

The SyberJet SJ30 administrative-type aircraft began to be developed by American aircraft manufacturers and designers in 1986. The main purpose of the beginning of the aircraft design process was the need to develop a high-quality, efficient and inexpensive aircraft, capable of being used both in business aviation on the territory of the USA and outside the country.
For the first time SyberJet SJ30 was presented to the wide public in 1991, however this is just the first tests of the basic prototype that initially was not able to meet all the requirements of aircraft developers, due to which the aircraft was sent for modification where it stayed for 5 years, which, eventually, significantly increased the cost of the project, due to which SyberJet Aircraft did not manage to achieve all the goals.
The SyberJet SJ30 aircraft has a very narrow scope of application and is intended exclusively for business aviation, which is why production of the aircraft is very limited - during the entire production period (as of 2015), only 10 aircraft of this model were built, however, the production cycle continues to this day, indicating the possible promise of the project.
