The Boeing Business Jet 2 (BBJ 2) was developed from the Boeing 737-800 and is a modification of the BBJ with a passenger cabin extended by 25% to 95.20 m2. The flight range of BBJ 2 is 12,279 km, which is enough for transatlantic flights. At customer's request, the aircraft can be equipped with a set of office equipment, as well as high-speed Internet, fax and satellite TV. 

Boeing developers created a flexible passenger cabin layout, so that by quickly rearranging basic modular elements of the equipment different options for comfortable accommodation of eight to 50 passengers can be obtained. 

Compared to the basic version, the updated BBJ2 offers 25 percent more space in the passenger cabin and twice the volume of the cargo compartment. The airplane with eight passengers on board can cover distances of up to 11,480 km without refueling at an average speed of 890 km/h. This makes it possible to fly between pairs of cities such as London-Rio de Janeiro, New York-London, Moscow-Dubai, London-Singapore or Johannesburg.

The elite BBJ2 line of corporate jets provides practical and comfortable zoning of the passenger cabin into a conference room, office, lounge or lounge area and a large bedroom. There is also a spacious lavatory with shower and the conference room can be converted into a dining room if required. You can pick up a BBJ2 with two bathrooms, two secluded bedrooms or additional living room zoning if needed. The design can be anything, as long as it does not exceed the 7,030 kg limit. The interior of the BBJ2 in the branded package is aged in warm beige and chocolate tones.

The cockpit is equipped with a HUD display on the windshield and six multifunction screens for displaying data on the flight progress and status of onboard systems. Rockwell Collins has also certified EVS, an advanced vision system specifically for BBJ navigation needs. Max-Viz's multi-wave IR sensors track the position of the airliner and display the information directly on the HGS-4000 HUD.

The difference between Boeing's corporate version and the larger 737 passenger models is a significant refinement of the airframe design. The BBJ2's mixed type winglets reduce fuel consumption by 3 to 5% compared with the 737 series. The BBJ2's independent gangways allow even airports with limited ground support to be used. Commercial airport use is limited by runway length - the BBJ2 requires at least 2,400 m for runway acceleration. The corporate version of the Boeing is also equipped with additional fuel tanks, providing fuel for long transatlantic flights. The BBJ2 has been certified to ETOPS-180 standards - the airliner's route is lined up for a 3-hour flight to the nearest suitable airport. This measure allows for a safe landing even in the event of an emergency engine failure. The BBJ2 propulsion system consists of a pair of General Electric CFM56-7B27 turbojet engines with a thrust of 12,380 kgf each. The fuel tanks in the wing provide fuel reserves of 26,025 liters. Three to seven extra fuel tanks can increase maximum fuel capacity to 39,531 liters. At maximum load, the BBJ2 covers a distance of 10,186 km.
